• After receiving my B.A. from Gustavus Adolphus College in Minnesota, my real estate career began in the family’s business, leasing and managing 1,000,000+ square feet of suburban office and industrial properties in Fort Worth, Texas. Shortly after joining the family business, I brokered 2 Houston apartment complexes, and joined Hawaii Properties, Inc. (HPI), a syndication group with over 60 partnerships, as Director of Acquisitions and Sales, focused largely in apartment investments..
• Later I was hired by a private placement syndicate (Claremont Equities) where I specialized in “pre-sale” structured sale transactions identifying apartment sites, working in concept through design-build multi-family product, utilizing forward purchase contracts financing take-outs.
• In 1987 I rejoined Hawaii Properties, Inc. as a workout specialist. During this period, I created a land management systems implemented on national platform to effectively manage institutional REO. In a senior management position at HPI, I supervised a brokerage division of 7 brokers, and solicited fee management services targeting institutions, the FDIC, FSLIC, FADA and the RTC. The job included all asset management from vendor contracting, compliance, business planning and sale/exit strategies throughout Texas. Portfolios and single asset transaction experience includes many product types such as fractured condominiums, office, retail, multi-family, mobile home parks, senior housing, hotel/motel and land.
• I was recruited as an apartment broker at Grubb & Ellis, worked as a closer for National Auction House in televised RTC auctions. At Grubb & Ellis I facilitated several apartment “turnaround rehabs” advising clientele as a construction manager and loan originator of bridge, conventional, HUD and FNMA financing. I also completed Low Income Housing Tax Credit and Historical Tax Credit transactions.
• In 1999, I purchased an apartment project and razed the property to develop a 15-lot town house subdivision. This led to investment and assembly of infill lot development for the personal account, gaining expertise in platting and zoning processes, infrastructure and re-sale of infill product to builders.
• From 2002 – 2005 served as an adviser to 3rd party homebuilders and non-profits. Project specific consulting activity ranged from site acquisition, federal and state grant writing, horizontal and vertical project management, LOMA, and historic property re-development.
• In 2005, I served as Senior Vice President of BellGroup, LLC. I was charged with various real estate investment responsibilities including the loan placement of a $7,500,000 for privately owned office building via structured triple-net leaseback. Duties also included property management tasks and leasing of excess office space and pre-existing users at BellGroup’s 40,000 square foot corporate headquarters.
• While at BellGroup, I was responsible for pre-development planning connected to acquisition and development of public/private partnership (“P3”) that included the City of Fort Worth and Tarrant County. These partnerships of BLG-LaGrave Development are commonly known today Panther Island.
• I became the lead negotiator with public partners of the Trinity River Vision (“TRV”) including new zoning and guidelines mandated by the Army Corp of Engineers and the Trinity River Vision Authority (“TRVA”). The joint efforts of the TRVA and the Bell family was to resolve flood control and the creation of a public river walk and secondary canal system via a series of waterways dissecting the Trinity River levee system, creating an 800-acre island called “Trinity Uptown.”
• I functioned as project manager for the Bell family development team, and was charged with responsibility for the expansion construction and financing of a privately owned stadium (LaGrave Field). I oversaw the reclamation and environmental clean-up of a 70 acre former industrial site, including Brownfield Loan origination with the EPA and City of Fort Worth; site planning/engineering duties connected to infrastructure and platting: acquisition and financing of 36 acres of land from the City of Fort Worth and out parcel assembly; and administration of requisite engineering, zoning and environmental closures required to process final approval of a mixed-use 60 acre master planned development.
• My Fort Worth developer responsibilities likewise involved minor league baseball team operations and ancillary revenue operations such as licensing and sub-lease agreements connected to the stadium as a multi-use venue, urban gas drilling contracts in a joint venture with the City of Fort Worth, Tarrant County and Tarrant County Community College, and the primary transaction manager.
• Beginning in October of 2009, I served as Chief Investment Officer of Summit Alliance Real Estate Group, LLC and its successor Argentus Real Estate Group (wholly-owned by $2 Billion Dollar AUM Capital Management Group). Responsibilities included real estate investment overview, sponsorship, investment and underwriting offered through the parent securities company “Broker-Dealer.” Real Estate Investment Trusts and Private Placements were the typical investment vehicle underwritten. I served on the investment committee approving new product introduced through the Broker Dealer and offered to aproximately 80 Registered Investment Advisors participating on the $2 billion dollar Summit Alliance Investment Group, and successor Argentus Capital Management platform.

• During this time, l also worked as an independent consultant in family office real estate holding re-capitalization, 1031 exchanges, loan work-outs, business integration and Public Private Partnerships. Throughout this time I have also managed family business, as well as my personal investments.
